AMFTRB is…
The Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards (AMFTRB) is the association of state licensing boards governing the regulation of LMFTs. Nosotros develop and administer the MFT National Examination used by jurisdictions as one of the requirements to license candidates. We coordinate amidst state boards developing policy guidelines for regulatory issues ii of which are what a licensing board would want to consider in promulgating rules and laws virtually mobility for licensees and teletherapy practice. We back up our 52 member boards (all states, the District of Columbia, and Guam) in their mandate to protect the public by establishing initial licensure requirements, insuring clinical competency of licensees, managing renewals, treatment disciplinary activeness, and revising statutes and regulations.
To this end, we perform a variety of services including providing a clearinghouse for information and research, producing and maintaining the Spousal relationship and Family unit Therapy National test, and facilitating communication among our stakeholders. In addition, the members of AMFTRB continually explore current regulatory problems, such equally telemental health and licensure portability, offer suggestions and guidelines to assist regulators as they make important decisions that impact the profession of marriage and family therapy.
